Panca Wali Krama: A massive, island-wide purification ceremony held only once every 10 years.
Eka Dasa Rudra: The most monumental of all Balinese ceremonies, held just once every 100 years to spiritually purify the entire universe.
Beyond the grand events at the Mother Temple, everyday life in Bali is deeply intertwined with spirituality. Regular temple anniversaries, known as Odalan, act as purification ceremonies and can last anywhere from 3 to 42 days.
The Balinese celebrate sacred rituals at every stage of human existence—from the time a child is in the mother’s womb, through coming-of-age and marriage, all the way to the grand, final cremation ceremonies known as Ngaben.
