Bali Educational Tourism Stakeholders

Bali as educational tourism destination has to follow the goal of education program of government of Republic of Indonesia. At the local level, the local government tourism authorities, universities/colleges and tourism stakeholders will be participate in the process of identifying the appropriate themes to form the framework of educational tourism strategy. In addition, inputs also come from travel agents or tour operator to shape the theme and product package. The implementation of the educational tourism in Bali will be based on the existing frameworks of institutions. They provide Bali a more co-coordinated approach to negotiations and strengthen their bargaining position in international market. Creating a neighbor countries market is important because in 2008 almost 67.64 % of tourist flows to Bali resulted from Asia Pacific region where Australia is 15.68% and Japan 18.2% (Bali Government Tourism Office, 2009). Increasing number of foreign tourists visiting Bali should prepare for this new demand. The theme, curriculum, course content and schedule will be the outcome of joint efforts by all stakeholders. To facilitate the delivery of the educational tourism program, tourism stakeholders can take advantage of the University of Udayana as the oldest government university in Bali.

Concerning the projects, external events respectively the project sometimes rise up as a surprise to the project manager and his team. It is essential for the project team to recognize that they must also be responsive to it. It includes the established and latest state-of-the-art technology in which the project is based on, its customers and competitors, its geographical, climatic, social, economic and political settings, in fact, virtually everything that can impact its success. These factors can affect the planning, organizing, staffing and directing which constitute the project manager’s main responsibilities.
