A “homestay” is a cultural exchange in which a person get mingle with local people and stay at their warmth hosting. It’s a chance to become a member of a Balinese family and to learn more about their culture and customs. Stay and live with locals and make your own home away from home in Bali.
Baliedu invites you to live within the Balinese families in Ubud. It gives the opportunity to see the daily life of locals. They are ready to host the guests for longer stays or just for a couple of nights. They welcome the guests to learn Balinese and Indonesian language, dance, gamelan, cooking, painting, handicraft making, shadow puppet workshop, yoga and meditation exercise.
Baliedu selects the homestay carefuly to make sure that they are ready to host the international guests. Below is the example of our 2 Days and 1 Night homestay program:
DAY 1: HOMESTAY CHECK IN – LAUGHING THERAPY – BALINESE DANCE OR PAINTING LESSON – TARO – TEGALLALANG TERRACE (L,D)

- Pick-up and transfer to the village. We will pick you up from Airport or your Last Hotel
- Laughing Therapy and Meditation. This type of this therapy will help you to relax your mind and also one of the ways that can be used for self-healing.
- Balinese Dance or Painting Lessons. With Balinese original artist, you will learn some simple and basic movements of Bali dance or you can choose painting lesson for your happy activity.
- Homestay check in and Introduction to host family.
- Yayasan Lembu Putih Taro (White Cows in Taro Village). In generally, The colour of Bali cattle is red. But in Taro village most of them has white. For balinese, cattle from village is very sacred and and holy. You also will get to know some of the medicinal plants.
- Tegallalang Terrace Trekking. You can enjoy one of the beautiful terrace in northern Ubud village and do a short track. You can learn of traditional irrigation system, rice type and some tropical trees.
- Arrive back in Homestay and free grogram
DAY 2: HOMESTAY CHECK OUT – HAND READING – MONKEY FOREST (B,L)

- Hand reading by Ketut Liyer. Hand reading will be a unique experience for you on this program. Ketut Liyer is a spiritual and traditional healer from Ubud who became famous as Elizabeth Gilbert (author of the novel and the movie eat, pray and love by Julia Roberts)
- Visiting Ubud Monkey Forest. Monkey forest is one of tourist attractions in Ubud. You will see a lot of long-tailed monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) in its natural habitat.
- Transfer to your next destination
