Bali House (The compound of Balinese traditional house) is basically divided into three parts. The Balinese apply the concept of Tri Angga and Tri Loka when building the structure of building. Tri Angga is “three part of human body” and Tri Loka is “upper (Bhur), middle (Bwah) and lower (Swah) world of existence”.

Every building of Balinese Traditional house refers to 9 of wind directions (Nawa sanga), it means that every building has its own place. For example.

  • The place for Kitchen (a place for fire) should be in the south.
  • Prayer building (pura) always in the east side. The side of sunrise
  • Well the place of spring always in the north side. It’s the place of mountain is usually located

 

TRADITIONAL HOUSE IN BATUAN VILLAGE

There are 2 traditional houses in Batuan Village. Tourist could see the original of Balinese Traditional house. Some wall still made from soil with grasses roof.

WISATA DESA PENGLIPURAN

Penglipuran is one of the most uniqueness and beautiful village in Bali. It has a traditional architect of house and landscape. The entrance gate to the house and the garden is amazing. The locals use a traditional local knowledge and wisdom of ‘Asta Kosala Kosali Bali’. Every house has the same size of land that divided into three parts which is Utama Mandala to build temple, Madya Mandala for housing, and Nista Mandala for animal husbandry and garden. The tourists visit the village will get more experience by trekking through the bamboo jungle.

DESA TRADISIONAL BAYUNG GEDE

The villager of Bayung Gede is the believed by the Penglipuran villages as their ancestors. It has the similarity of custom and traditions of both villages. The uniqueness of Bayug Gede village is the way of villager to put the placenta of baby. They hang the placenta on the tree in the south of the village. For wedding ceremony, the villagers has a particular rules and practices.
