Gender Wayang is one of traditional Gamelan (orchestra) of Balinese indigenous people. Traditionally, it is used to accompany the shadow puppet (wayang kulit) performance. The numbers of ensemble are four instruments. The wayang performance is required by certain sacred ritual in Bali.
In Bali, nowadays, Gender wayang has been studied mostly by youth traveler and student from Europe, Japanese, and USA. They join the course for several month and weeks and visit Bali once or twice a year.
