3. The training of organic waste composting

The training of organic waste composting will be very essential for the locals. Compost is a fertilizer that has been decomposed from organic matter of animal or plant waste. These become the ingredient in organic farming. There are two methods of composting process, those that need air  (aerobic) and those that don’t (anaerobic). It has its own physical characteristics with the similar quality. Through a good management system, these program will encourage the economic of locals.

4. The training and workshop of making a variety of unique crafts of plastic waste

Plastics are increasingly used in day-to-day life of the local community. Because of practical functions, plastics are mostly used to wrap and pack the food or beverage, to make tools and equipment (such as buckets, plates, straps, etc.), and to carry groceries. Even to carry a small grocery, the people require a plastic bag. There is an assumption of local people, without using the plastic bags are considered as less polite and appreciative to the buyers. Therefore, the plastic bags and other waste generated from snacks are getting more and more in the countryside.

The habits to throw the waste in any place for the food that are wrapped by leaves and othe organic products do not effect a lot to the environment and people’s health. As it is replaced by the plastics, it brings so much problem to the community. Thus, to minimize the use of plastic should be solved by the cultural approach.

Instead of the more understanding of women of health effects of burning plastic waste, the program is conducted to produce a unique and creative crafts of plastic waste. These become a solution for the uncontrolled number of plastic waste in the village. The craft will support the local economics especially the women. All participant will take part during the workshop to produce a crafts from the plastic waste.

The volunteer program will be conducted for two days. As our program is flexible, we will very happy to adjust the time and program in order to achieve the great success. We have some information of potential village in Bali that are ready to host of these volunteer program.
